At Guelph Twines Ltd., we take pride in producing high-quality twines and monofilaments that meet the needs of commercial, industrial, and agricultural businesses across North America. Our products are known for their strength, lightweight nature, and versatility, making them ideal for various applications. In this post, we’ll take you through our manufacturing process, highlighting how we achieve the perfect balance of strength and lightness in our twines and monofilaments.
The Manufacturing Process at Guelph Twines
1) Location and Raw Materials
Our commitment to excellence begins at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. We are conveniently located on a central railroad line and receive high-quality polypropylene resin directly from suppliers. This premium resin is known for its strength and durability, forming the foundation of our exceptional products.
2) Extrusion Process
The first step in our manufacturing process involves transforming the polypropylene resin into flat sheets using our advanced extruder machines. These machines heat and extrude the resin into uniform sheets, the starting point for our twine and monofilament production.
3) Splitting, Reheating, and Stretching
Once the flat sheets are formed, they undergo a meticulous splitting, reheating, and stretching process. This crucial stage ensures that the twine and monofilament meet our stringent quality standards. The stretching process aligns the polymer chains, enhancing the strength and durability of the final product.
4) Yarn Formation and Twisting
The stretched material is then transformed into yarn and wound onto tubes, ready for the twisting process. Our twisting machines can combine multiple yarns to create a range of braiding, colors, and sizes. This flexibility allows us to produce various types of twines, such as twisted twine, baling twine, flat ribbon twine, greenhouse twine, and twisted monofilament twine.
5) Inventory and Shipping
To ensure your business operates smoothly, we keep most standard twines and monofilament rope yarns in stock for same-day or next-day shipping. Our commitment to timely delivery is just one way we demonstrate our dedication to exceptional customer service.
